Who is Barclays Africa?

Barclays has been operating in Africa for decades. In many of our African countries, we are the oldest and largest bank operating there. We are currently in Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, and Seychelles.

Over the past 100 years, we have meaningfully contributed to the economic development of the continent. Together with Absa, we employ more than 14,000 people who in most cases support their extended families, in addition to providing world class financial services to business and governments. Last year we introduced many new products that included ones targeted to the under-banked or unbanked communities, and our customers could reach us through more than 500+ distribution points.

However, our commitment and success goes deeper than our commercial services and products. We worked with over 100 non-governmental organizations across the continent promoting education, improved health and financial inclusion.
