About Angola
Angola, with vast oil and mineral deposits, has one of the most vibrant economies in Africa. After emerging from an almost three-decade long civil war in 2002, the country’s economy has seen an impressive upturn. Angola now rivals Nigeria as Africa's biggest oil producer and is the world's fifth biggest diamond producer. A postwar reconstruction boom has led to high rates of growth in construction and agriculture as well. Even within the global financial crisis and dips in commodity prices, growth rates continue to be strong.
As the economy grows, so does the demand for skilled and educated workers. There are huge skill requirements in line with the vast levels of investment. Jobs are being created country-wide for skilled workers in engineering, finance, management, IT, amongst other sectors. The process of ‘Angolanisation’ which requires foreign companies operating in Angola to staff their local operations mainly with Angolans has meant that the demand for Angolan graduates and professionals is incredibly high.
Having built our specialisation over the past 7 years, Careers in Africa has established a network of over 5000 Angolans around the world, of which more than 500 have been recruited into Angola. Our Recruitment Summits in Johannesburg, London, Lisbon and Sao Paulo connect the Angolan Diaspora with leading employers from across Angola.
