About Côte d'Ivoire
As the world’s top exporter of cocoa and raw cashew nuts, a net exporter of oil and with a significant manufacturing sector, Côte d’Ivoire is the second largest economy in West Africa after Nigeria. The recent political crisis has had a devastating effect on the economy. Prior to December 2010, the economy’s performance in 2010 was good despite the global economic slowdown.
This was in turn reflected by the steady demand for Ivorian graduates and professionals by companies operating in the country. However, the number of career opportunities has decreased drastically due to the effects of the political strife. It is hoped that Côte d'Ivoire will have a speedy recovery which will enable it to resume its place of economic prominence.
