About Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a country of immense potential. The massive country is endowed with extraordinary agricultural and mineral resources and is potentially one of Africa’s richest countries and one of the continent’s key engines for growth. Since 2001, the country is recovering from a series of conflicts that occurred through most of the 1990s.
Currently, the main drivers of DRC’s economy are wholesale and retail trade, construction, manufacturing, transport and telecommunications. Extractive industries have been subject to the vagary of commodity prices as well as the effects of the international financial crisis. This is a key market for Careers in Africa as demand for skilled graduates and professionals have risen exponentially and are set to continue for the foreseeable future.
