About Gambia
The Gambia is the smallest country on mainland Africa, situated along the Gambia River and has frontiers only with Senegal with a 60 kilometer border on the Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of 1.7 million and a Diaspora of around 0.5 million.
Service industries such as trade, transport and tourism dominate the economy which is ranked as one of the high-growth economies in western Africa. The World Bank has identified the Gambian banking system as one of the sources of strength of the country’s economy.
