About Kenya
The most industrialized country in East Africa and one of the top performing countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Kenya’s strengths are two-fold: strategic location and human capital. Kenya is a member of the East African Community (EAC) of 93 million people, where trade is envisaged to flow freely across Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya by 2013.
In addition to its membership in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and as the gateway to landlocked Southern Sudan, a large number of international companies have chosen the country as a regional business hub. The rapidly growing communications sector also plays an integral part in the economic growth of Kenya. The ICT sector alone is estimated to have accounted for 13% of growth in Kenya’s economy over the past decade. Careers in Africa has responded to this by launching the Careers in Africa Recruitment Summit in Nairobi alongside Informa’s East Africa Com Conference.
