About Namibia
Namibia is a stable middle-income country which has been enjoying sustained economic stability. The extraction and processing of minerals, particularly copper, diamonds, gold, uranium and zinc for export is the key driver of this economy. However, the social and economic imbalances of the former apartheid system have left Namibia with a highly dualistic society. The Affirmative Action (Employment) Act (Act 28 of 1998) and the Employment Equity Commission of Namibia were therefore instituted to redress the issue.
