About Rwanda
As a testament to its commitment to reconstruction, Rwanda was hailed as the World’s Biggest Business Reformer on the World Bank’s Doing Business 2010 report, becoming the first African country to top the list. The impressive growth that the country has experienced so far has largely been driven by the good performance of the agriculture, manufacturing and services sectors.
However, the government is making concerted efforts to diversify the economy and become an ICT hub as a long-term strategy for sustaining long-term growth. Rwanda has also revolutionised the human capital landscape by lifting all work permit requirements and employment restrictions on professionals from the East African Community.
