One of our candidates, Mntuwabantu Nduvane, was recently interviewed for The South African newspaper. He is a South African engineer who has been invited to both the London and Johannesburg Recruitment Summits.

Born: Johannesburg

Background: MBA at Cardiff University, Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Policy & Administration with Petrad International, Norway. Worked for Total as a Managing Director, Namibia.

Current aim: Now looking for new career opportunities in SA with Careers in Africa.

Why did you apply to Careers in Africa?

I applied because the time had come for me to move back to Africa. It is my home, and with the many career opportunities on offer, it was the best time to move back.

How did you find living in the UK?

I loved my years in the UK and Europe. I gained an education that I would not otherwise have achieved. I have been exposed to other cultures than South Africa’s and this has helped me in an interactive learning environment during my studies, and now with my professional leadership development.

What are you doing to prepare for the 2011 Recruitment Summits in London and Johannesburg?

I am researching in-depth into the companies that will be there recruiting for the Oil and Gas markets, such as Total and Oceaneering. I know that the first impression is the most important when meeting with these hirers. I think the best way is to be polite and to show myself in the best light!

What would be your advice to anyone thinking of applying to Careers in Africa?

It is a great idea indeed, and thumbs up to Careers in Africa for their good work. I am looking forward to both Summits very much.
