QualificationsB.Tech/BE Chemical or Msc Chemistry with min 10 years’ experience in R&D on Home and personal care.  
The R&D manager (HPC) will lead the African Home & Personal care portfolio to deliver winning products with good margins. 
His lead roles and responsibilities will include  
• Defining with Marketing the Home and Personal care category innovation plan• Understanding consumer technical needs and translating to technical plans• Define category new technology “wants” and find/get.• Formulate to meet product design brief • Cost optimise formulas• Evaluate sensory and benefit performance and generate claim support. • Competitor and market knowledge including performance benchmarking• Ensuring Product and ingredient regulatory compliance• Accessing and building relationships with external category experts• Developing the team of r&d 
In addition, he will provide direction to the category managers in 
• Writing the Bill of materials • Defining specifications  for final product • Agree specifications for new materials (jointly with QC)
