EHS Field Advisor

Reports To: Functional report- Kenya EHS Operations Manager 
Interact With: Internal:EHS TeamField Operations management External:Contractors
Job Purpose: To monitor and supervise the implementation of Tullow Oil policies and procedures on all field operations sites for Kapese camp construction.
To provide advice, support and training in the development and implementation of operational safety plans and procedures in compliance with Tullow Oil EH&S MS. This includes a functional EHS authority/oversight over all activities in area of responsibilities.
Key Objectives/ Responsibilities:• Implement of Tullow Oil EHS MS and Tullow Safety Rules in Civils operations. • Provide technical advice and support in relation to the development, implementation and monitoring of EHS plans and procedures;• Undertake prescribed assurance activities• Advise on issues of compliance to Tullow EHS policies and local regulatory EHS requirements and industry best practices.• Implement risk management procedure in respective operations, monitor PTW, JSA and maintain risk registers.• Conduct incident investigations and prepare S.M.A.R.T corrective actions, ensuring implementation within stipulated time frame.• Active monitoring and periodic reporting on EHS activities and EHS performance indicators both for Tullow and Contractor activities. • Ensure effective emergency response at the work site(s)• Proactive contractor and service company EHS management Person SpecificationEducation: NEBOSH certificate or equivalent as a minimum. Evidence of ongoing EHS professional development.
Skills: Proven experience of managing EHS in Exploration and Production operations with emphasis on field activity related to onshore EHS Management Systems• Remote area experience• 5yrs experience in the Oil and Gas industry • Knowledge of Identification & Control measures of operational risks/hazards in Civils sites• Can deliver basic EHS training• Computer literate and familiar with incident reporting and action tracking software.• Demonstrable incident investigation training and experience.• Identification & Control measures of operational risks/hazards in EP sites – Lifting operations, working at height, plant isolation/PTW systems, Road/Air/sea transport safety, Chemicals, PPE, ER systems/equipment, Fire Protection, Office and camp safety procedures, Welding safety, Vehicle and plant safety etc
