ROLE PROFILE – COUNTRY MANAGER

This is the role profile in a normalised situation and it recognises only the core responsibilities.

JOB PURPOSE

To establish / manage Group Five presence in Kenya. Establish country relationships, contacts, systems, processes and procedures in line with Group Five guidelines to ensure a sustainable presence in the country.

The country company is to be a multi-disciplinary construction company offering a full service across the construction related value chain in Kenya, seeking to leverage both a credible local presence and a strong technical backing available from Group Five in RSA to secure / procure a sustainable multi-disciplinary work load in Kenya.

In addition to maintaining a sustainable presence in Kenya, the local company will need to ensure through comprehensive market information that the Group is in a position to secure/compete for major construction contracts as may arise within the market segments serviced by the Group. These major projects would typically be undertaken in joint venture with Group Five’s major Business Units based in RSA.

Education and Qualifications

Business related tertiary qualification.

Experience

Experience in managing a country office

Experience at a senior level in the procuring, managing and contractual aspects of similar contracts is a prerequisite

Candidate must have country experience to be able to provide advice and support to personnel, thereby reducing the dependency on RSA management and personnel.

Having worked either in a 3rd world type environment would be highly advantageous.
