Education / Business Degree

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or relevant field
  • Post graduate degree in Finance / equivalent/ relevant professional qualifications

Work Experience

  • 4 – 7 years of relevant experience in Finance in a multi-national business environment 2 – 4 years’ management experience within a telecommunication environment
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in enterprise asset management related role
  • Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (enterprise asset management)
  • Experience in enterprise asset management leading practices and trends

Industry / Certifications

  • Telecom Industry Project Management Fixed Assets

Any other specifications

  • International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS)
  • ERP (Oracle)
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience in continuous process improvement
  • Experience in a Shared Service Center / Business Process Outsourcing environment Assets Management experience in Telecom industry

Key Job Responsibilities

Strategy Implementation

  • Assist in the creation of sub-divisional strategy in line with overarching divisional goals
  • Ensure effective implementation of sub-divisional strategy by means of providing
  • direction, structure, business plans and support

Staff Leadership and Management

  • Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program
  • Develop and implement a training plan in order to build and develop skills within the team
  • Manage allocation of work to team members after planning for back-up and leave / absenteeism
  • Ensure cohesive working of the team
  • Accountable for meeting and prioritising own targets / deadlines and those of others
  • Provide coaching and support to help achieve performance expectations
  • Provide information to the Manager on work accomplishments, individual / team challenges
  • Lead team meetings and contribute on specialist / technical areas
  • Report process dashboards on various performance metrics internally to the Manager

Governance

  • Set up / participate in adhoc and operational meetings

Escalations

  • Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on critical path of service delivery
  • Escalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/client or cost impact if not resolved
  • Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution 

SSH Operational

  • Set up and manage project status meetings
  • Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
  • Manage budgets
  • Sign-off / make decisions regarding operational changes

Performance

  • Review performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators and compliance to Service Level Agreements
  • Create and monitor plan for continuous improvement
  • Review performance of SSH teams

Reporting

  • Report on a monthly basis to the Management relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
  • Report on specific projects as per the defined timelines

Budgets

  • Assist in managing the sub-divisional budgets in line with business objectives
  • Assist in managing project initiative budgets in line with business objectives

Operational Delivery

Manage Asset Adjustments

  • Review work order reports for asset retirement and disposal
  • Review and validate if retired assets are removed from Fixed Assets Register(FAR) and tax FAR
  • Review tax treatment of retired/sold/scrapped/transferred asset
  • Validate compliance with MTN and statutory requirements on or before retirement/sales/scrapped/transfer of asset
  • Review and approve other asset adjustments related requests
  • Review and approve property management related requests

Manage Project Reporting and Dashboard

  • Review reporting templates
  • Validate inter dependency in dashboard and evaluate their accuracy
  • Review and provide inputs for analysis of data and validate explanation for the variance
  • Provide and manage approval on reports

Manage Data Masters

  • Manage Item Masters
  • Manage WBS Masters
  • Manage Site Masters

Others

Support EAM CoE in

  • Maintenance of CAPEX Investment and Project Management toolkits
  • Review of Opco reports (standard and adhoc) on EAM
  • Updates to Maintenance Strategy
  • Review of FAR on a period basis
  • Reconciliation of physical assets with FAR
  • Management of Master Data Management (MDM) and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders at Opcos – HR for staffing, people
  • initiatives and attrition management, project management team in ensuring minimal challenges in sourcing for projects, quality team to ensure process improvement Initiatives, IT on automation / digitization initiatives for the process
  • Identifying innovative changes to fixed asset and projects processes based on industry leading practices

Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff motivation is high
  • Ensure skill transfer for staff development, motivation and business continuity
  • Ensure the team is led, motivated and rewarded to achieve high performance areas
  • Guide and direct vendors and third parties in achieving Opco objectives
  • Identify staff training and development needs and implement necessary actions
  • Manage team (including recruitment, on-boarding, attrition)
  • Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress, and maintain motivation
  • Set up appropriate structure to meet departmental management objectives
