Medical Affairs Manager – Africa (French Speaking)

Novo Nordisk has been at the forefront of innovation in the diabetes care field.  They market its product in more than 180 countries employing over approximately 40,300 people in 75 countries.

As the Medical Affairs Manager – Africa you will report to the Clinical Medical Regulatory & Quality Director.  This is an individual contributor role.  You will be responsible for developing and driving the medical affairs strategy with all medical affiliates across Africa.  In this role you will also be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

  • Managing regional medical affairs meetings and participating in the Africa medical/marketing working groups/projects to ensure the alignment of medical activities across Africa (also between medical and marketing functions)
  • Closely collaborating with the marketing department and other stakeholders across business area Africa to support marketing strategies and fulfil business needs
  • Supporting new products launch in the Africa business area by proposing and initiating regional medical activities
  • Supporting the local clinical trial activities
  • Coordinate with all affiliates for medical affairs activities which include regional symposium, advisory board meetings, scientific expert meetings, etc.
  • Being a key resource personnel for business area Africa on medical support and information concerning diabetes products
  • Ensure compliance with any Regional or Global mandatory initiatives, policies or guidelines

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • A post-graduate medical qualification (Qualified medical doctor)
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in medical affairs with international exposure in a global company in the Healthcare or Pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record in developing and leading a medical affairs strategy working closely with the Clinical, Marketing and Research departments respectively
  • Bilingual capability in English and French
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work across different cultures – displaying cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Ability to build relationships and work with stakeholders at all levels
