About the Role
Role Purpose
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for driving the overall commercial strategy and growth of the business. The role oversees sales, marketing, product development, distribution, and customer experience to ensure revenue growth, market share expansion, and long-term profitability.
The CCO owns the customer interface and ensures all commercial functions are aligned to achieve strategic business objectives.

Commercial Strategy & Growth: Define and execute the commercial strategy to drive business growth and expand market opportunities.
Sales & Revenue Management: Lead all sales channels to deliver revenue targets through effective acquisition, retention, and upselling.
Marketing & Brand: Drive brand positioning and marketing strategy using insights to strengthen market presence and alignment.
Product & Innovation: Oversee product development and lifecycle to ensure competitive, profitable, and innovative offerings.
Customer Experience: Enhance the end-to-end customer journey to improve satisfaction, loyalty, and key performance metrics.
Partnerships & Business Development: Build strategic partnerships and develop new business opportunities to support expansion.
Financial & Operational Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L to ensure strong performance and cost efficiency.
Leadership & Culture: Lead and develop high-performing teams while embedding a customer-centric, performance-driven culture.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
MBA or equivalent (preferred)
Experience
15+ years in commercial leadership roles
Minimum 5 years at executive level
Telecoms or technology sector experience
Proven revenue growth and market share delivery
Experience managing large P&Ls
Knowledge
Telecom products and network technologies
Industry trends (5G, fiber, OTT, digital transformation)
Regulatory landscape
African business environment (preferred)
