Summary
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for Implements sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage the local sourcing of a Centre/Basin/Country portfolio to maximise supplier performance (cost, quality, lead time) and support the business plan.
Main Responsibilities
- Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers to meet specified quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Executes contract negotiation and development in coordination with Procurement Manager and Contract Specialists
- Conducts RFI/Q/P (Request for Information/Quotation/Proposal) and bidding processes, minimising risk, and maximising value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost
- Evaluates current and prospective suppliers through supplier reviews, site visits and audits, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams, to assure supply capabilities, on-time delivery, quality and service
- Analyse and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure
- Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes
- Maintain knowledge of and communicate market trends affecting the company related to assigned commodities, primarily in the maintenance, repair, and operating supplies (MRO) or service areas of procurement
- Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending
- Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies
- Optimise sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Manage data related to contracts, material lists, material groups, quotes, and outline agreements.
- Prepares and evaluates supplier quotations and services to determine the most competitive solution based upon a total cost of ownership
- Independently conducts multiple complex sourcing projects
- Create, maintain, and monitor an identified category which includes a sourcing strategy (performance of targeted suppliers, high level assemblies, and service parts)
- Selects a high-performance supply base for assigned portfolio, in accordance with short-list of preferred suppliers defined by Category Managers.
- Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers
- Works closely with Procurement & Finance Managers or Sourcing Leader to guarantee supply for all portfolios Effectively communicates with and maintains the highest degree of relations between the Company and all levels of supplier personnel
