Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd (MRM) is the flagship company of SAFAL GROUP, which is the leading manufacturer of flat and long steel products in Africa. Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd is seeking to recruit a Product Manager.

Job Purpose:

Oversee the Product Management for a group of roofing products and be responsible for product launches, product extension, product profitability, MARCOM activity and increasing the product penetration in the defined markets for the product range being managed.

Key responsibilities:

    • To Manage the Product Management process for the Business Unit in terms of Product Launches, Product Market Communication, Product Positioning and Pricing Strategy, maximising the product contribution and ensuring the required product penetration in the defined market segments
    • To coordinate and execute all Marketing Communication program like Advertisement across various Media, measure effectiveness and capture feedback on Marcom programs and implement focused Marcom program for various stakeholders like Architects, Building Engineers & Surveyors, Contractors and the Distribution Channel
    • To oversee the long term product development plans, conduct timely review and ensure execution as per plans in coordination with other functional teams
    • To provide the marketing support for all below the line sales programs like schemes, promotions, distributor signage’s, market conversion programs, exhibitions, industry meets and technical seminars
    • To conduct Market Research and identify key trends in the roofing market and align the learning’s with product strategy
    • To improve the Product contribution by market/ product up gradation and launching high-end differentiated product offerings.
    • To develop Roofing Solutions through combination of product and service offerings and creating an differentiation viz the competition
    • Manage the market budget appropriately to ensure an optimal ROI is achieved for the product range being managed

The Successful Applicant must Possess the following:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field with an MBA as a plus
    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the marketing specific exposure to product management from a building materials, construction or consumer industry
    • Proven experience in product launches
    • Exposure to B2B marketing programs and technical marketing programs
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
