As the Segment Sales Specialist, you will be part of the Country Sales & Marketing team and will be responsible to create end user acceptance and specification offering within the target segment(s).

Driving and implementing marketing and sales activities for the selected market segment(s), in line with the agreed strategy. Working with key external influencers to educate, inform and solicit support for new ABB ventures and technical developments. Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and continuously monitor segment performance.

Tasks

Your main responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Strategy- Implementing and reviewing target segment(s) strategies with country-specific action plans.
  • Targets- Responsible for achieving key targets (e.g. volume, price, and mix) for the segment(s) in the specified market. Creates detailed business plans, implements with regular follow-up.
  • Market analysis- Monitoring market trends and recommending adjustments for the strategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes. Provides appropriate market information for long- to mid-term decision making.
  • Marketing- Communicating the end user value proposition for the target segment (internally and externally). Supporting local sales organisation to have an effective perception in the target segment(s). Creating and implementing the communication, promotion and training activities in the segment. Participating in the development of international standards and regulations by influencing the appropriate bodies (including government, legislative bodies, technical and trade associations).
  • Account management- Ensuring the major accounts in the segment(s) are identified and prioritized. May act as Account Manager for one or more major accounts in the Country.
  • Customer relationship- Building and maintaining strong relationships with the key customers in the target segment. Following up ABB’s performance in fulfilling their needs and communicates deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respective Business Units/Product Groups.
  • Contracts and negotiations- Working closely with the relevant sales organization to help in the identification and capture of future business. Drives the capture of end user/third party agreements. Helping negotiate complex legal and commercial
  • Risk- Identifying and managing potential risks relating to contract agreements and prices across segments.
  • Reporting- Reporting to the Segment Manager accurately measure progress and uses common tools to identify future opportunities

 

Required skills 

  •  A Master’s degree, or equivalent, in electrical or electro-technical engineering
  • 3 years of experience preferably in a multinational organization.
  • Understanding and know-how of the local market.
  • Clear ability to communicate and to lead discussions with employees and managers in the organization.
  • Ability to travel and work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
