OUR MISSION & VISION

Helios Towers is a market-leading independent telecom tower infrastructure company and are market leaders in Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, and Senegal. We are a leading operator in Ghana with a strong urban portfolio and established a presence in South Africa in 2019. Our principal business lies in building, acquiring and operating telecommunications towers that are capable of accommodating and powering the needs of multiple tenants. These tenants are typically large MNOs and other telecommunications providers who in turn provide wireless voice and data services, primarily to end-consumers and businesses. Today our infrastructure covers more than 200 million people - and that footprint is growing fast.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Karim Ndiaye
Regional Director of Helios Towers Senegal

Since 2021, Karim Ndiaye has been Regional Director of Helios Towers Senegal. In just a few months, he has successfully structured all operations: obtaining the licence, recruiting a 100% local team of 60 people, and implementing an ambitious programme to deploy 1,500 sites across the country, including 400 in rural areas. This dynamic promotes inclusive digital coverage and the emergence of a more equitable digital economy.

Diversity & Inclusion

Having a diverse and inclusive workforce makes us a stronger, more sustainable business. Developing a workforce that mirrors the communities we serve is key to our long-term success.

We are proud to meet and exceed targets of ethnic representation at board level set by The Parker Review. At Board level, ethnic diversity representation stands at 40%, and the gender split is 60% male and 40% female. Across all our colleagues, ethnic diversity stands at 83%, and overall we have a 71% male and 29% female gender split. This latter statistic partly reflects that our sector has historically been seen as male-orientated. The nature of field maintenance roles can also present risks for women (such as working alone at remote site locations).

We see diversity as essential, desirable and a positive business benefit. We therefore strive to create a diverse, inclusive and open work environment.
