Profile: Senior Manager Brand & Communication 

TECHNICAL / ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master’s Degree in Marketing or Communication* *Exposure to Mobile telecommunications industry

 

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • 7-10 Years in Marketing – Brand Management.
  • Cross-Cultural Management Experience.
  • Strong Experience in Telecoms – GSM/Fixed Line/internet and Data business.
  • Knowledge of Solutions selling.
  • Deep understanding of the Cameroonian and West African Market Dynamics.

 

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of communication

  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management
  • Knowledge of consumer behaviour and market dynamics
  • Understanding of mobile technology/telecommunications as well as national and global trends

Main Duties:

  • Lead development and management of MTN brand across channels, media and touch points
  • Liaise internally and externally to generate leads and plan ways of developing MTN brand and increasing brand Awareness and Affinity.
  • Clarify communication objectives and ensure that a coherent message is delivered across all communications clearly communicating MTNC positioning on the market.
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization – especially the media: TV, radio and Press.
  • Commission and manage advertising campaigns, ensuring high quality, value-for-money results, in line with deadlines and brand guidelines.
  • Ensure management of external creative agencies as part of this process.
  • Ensure measurement of results and communicating your recommendations for on-going improvement.
  • Source, manage and evaluate outside agency suppliers and supervise delivery of their work ensure integrated working, where possible.
  • Provide key insights into divisional budget planning and maintain overall responsibility for all communications spending.
  • Develop a good understanding of the importance of legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Analyse return on Investment and the effectiveness of both Brand and product campaigns against competitor’s activity.
  • Ensure timely execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure timely Budget control.
  • Manage the performance and deliverables of direct and indirect reports to ensure that the objectives of the department are achieved.
  • Monitor reports for accuracy and adherence to service level agreements.
