Sub Regional Manager HSEQ – PUMA ENERGY – Abidjan (Ivory Coast)

Puma Energy International is a rapidly expanding, midstream and downstream oil company operating in over 35 countries across 5 continents. Head quartered in Geneva (Switzerland) with regional offices in Johannesburg (South Africa), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Singapore, we are a responsible supplier and storage facilitator of high-quality petroleum products.

Our midstream line of business unlocks value with storage capacity of 16 million barrels (“bbls”). This will be increased to approximately 26 million bbls by 2014 in accordance with the capital investment programme currently being implemented and various investment opportunities being originated. It makes Puma Energy one of the largest independent fuel storage operators. The downstream business supplies gasoil, gasoline, jet and niche products (like lubricants and bitumen) to a global network of over 1,300 retail service stations, 28 airports worldwide and the construction industry. This enables infrastructure development in emerging economies.

The incumbent will have overall control of the health and safety function within the cluster and responsibility for implementing, policy and procedures in line with regulations and ensure implementation through a team of Operations Managers and HSE Assistants under his scope.

Coordinate the quality assurance and implementation of HSE and quality programs so that all of the organization’s raw materials, in-process products, and finished products conform to technical specifications, perform reliability, meet internal and external quality standards and comply with all relevant regulations, licenses, waste management procedures, certifications, and other mandatory compliances. Adapt policies and programs to improve the organization’s environmental and safety performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: 

• Undergraduate University degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or Risk management, environmental studies, or operations management; hazardous materials management certification preferred; post graduate university degree preferred;

• English Native Language

• Fluent French will be a plus:

• Highly proficient in using MS Office
