Reporting: Senior Manager-Enterprise Wholesale Services.
Job Purpose: The role holder will serve the targeted local and international carriers as well as regional (EAC) customers through successful add on services and optimal portfolio mix.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for achieving revenue targets as per Wholesale business objectives and developing strong relationships with the customers at CEO level; • Development of a sales pipeline for the sector and proactively track and manage the performance of the sector;• Identify growth opportunities, up-selling and cross – selling potential within the assigned sector;• Provide leadership for customers in understanding business objectives and recommend business solutions to achieve those goals;• Resell international submarine capacity and inland fiber capacity in order to generate revenues in line with corporate wholesale services objectives;• Business Owner of the accounts, responsible for understanding and anticipating customer requirement, mapping competition and positioning Safaricom Enterprise Wholesale Services as the preferred service provider for the account;• Identify and analyze customer needs and requirements and develop responsive solutions, value propositions in conjunction with the Business Development team;• Manage international relationships with carriers and international Data/IP partners or providers to meet the needs of the business;• Weekly reports on sector performance and submission of sector plans on immediate sales and pipeline outlook;• Manage the selection, growth, development, performance, motivation and recommend the reward of staff in the section;
Role requirements;
• A recognized University Degree in a Business related field; Masters of Business Administration degree is an added advantage;• Experience and technical skills in telecommunications industry and sound knowledge of International Telecommunications Services is a mandatory requirement;• At least 4-5 years’ work experience in the telecommunications sector which must include establishing and managing international carrier relations and interconnection arrangements;• At least 3 years sales experience. Experience in projects management is an added advantage;• Strong relationship-building and customer retention skills preferably from a major blue chip company;• Ability to inspire and manage a sales team.
