Key Focus  This role manages the integration of all acquisitions in Africa into existing Old Mutual operations to the point where the operational business can be handed over to business as usual.

Accountabilities

  • Manages service delivery through a team of managers both in country and in project teams
  • Defines performance parameters and measurements for area under supervision.
  • Drives operational excellence through area of supervision.
  • Ensures growth & profitability and the achievement of strategy.
  • Drives the definition of specialist strategies with SMEs (Subject Matter experts)
  • Implements Old Mutual operating model, guided by BIB framework and achieves synergy targets as per the approved business case.
  • Drives the operational stability of the unit being integrated (JV or acquisition).
  • Plays the role of COO in new countries and assist with rolling out ¿Business in Box¿.
  • Provides the link between the country head and the Project Manager accountable for the implementation
  • Manages relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Role Description

  • Supports relevant Country Head to the point where the operational business can be handed over to business as usual. Provides the link between country head and Project Manager accountable for the implementation.
  • Implements Old Mutual operating model guided by BIB framework and achieves synergy targets as per the approved business case.
  • Provides overall direction to the Project Manager accountable for integration and implementation.
  • Plays a liaison role between the Country Head, Project Manager and other key stakeholders (including senior Executives).
  • Drives the operational stability of the unit being integrated (JV or acquisition).
  • Plays the role of COO in new countries and assists with rolling out “Business in Box”.
  • Takes overall tactical accountability for integration (PM is operationally accountable and the Country Head is strategically accountable).
  • Accountable to remove significant obstacles to integration.
  • Change management in respect of acquired entities
