Supply Chain Development Manager

Job Description

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

To lead the transformation and development of the supply chain through the implementation of MOVE (Supply Chain Operating Model), supply chain process design and setting up of planning department.  

Drive various supply chain projects to create value, from conception through to delivery and benefits realization to prepare the BU for capacity upgrade and implement supply chain best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

Key member of the team responsible for BU’s supply chain development in line with the our ambitions on health & safety, company strategy and business context within group supply chain guidelines, company policies, procedures and the code of business conduct (COBC). 

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Abide by all of our Health & Safety standards, carry out VFL’s (Visible Felt Leadership) as required. 
  • Be an ambassador for the effective implementation of safety across the supply chain  

SUPPLY CHAIN STRATEGY

  • Responsible for developing and implementing global supply chain strategy and to drive internal and external benchmarking on supply chain best practices and performance to enhance supply chain strategy
  • Initiate and develop supply chain transformation opportunities/solutions/strategy identified as a result of supply chain diagnosis, benchmarking, performance analysis or emerging trends within supply chain.
  • Manage supply chain projects to drive efficiency and productivity in areas identified by working with cross functional teams (commercial, industrial and marketing) and identifying the work plan, objectives and mobilizing the appropriate stakeholders
  • Create culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain processes by continuously identifying alternative operational solutions and new ways of improving customer service levels.
  • Develop business cases to support supply chain development to enable commercial sign off
  • Ability to assess risk and develop risk mitigation strategies to maintain a robust supply chain

PLANNING & PERFORMANCE

  • Develop supply chain planning department to support business strategies that are adaptable to changing market conditions, new business opportunities or cost reduction strategies. Including Sales & operations planning, all SOPs, demand and supply plans.
  • Develop supply chain performance reporting and create a customer centric approach within the supply chain.  
  • Enhance supply chain performance by ensuring that all supply chain strategic plans and Key Performance Indicatiors (KPS) are met.
  • Develop innovative customer supply chain approaches to achieve continuous service level improvements  
  • Supplier relationship and commercial management, to collaborate with supply chain partners to review  contracts and develop contractual terms that support business evolution
  • Work with the commercial team to optimise distribution and route to market through proactive demand planning.

COMMUNICATION

  • Ability to effectively communicate and support the business in addressing strategic supply chain challenges as they arise, providing insight, robust analysis and recommendations for decisions to be made in a timely manner.
  • Communicate to all key stakeholders to ensure buy-in to strategy and to provide update on implementation progress to Excom

SKILLS REQUIRED

1. EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain or planning function role preferably within FMCG
  • Extensive knowledge in supply chain with a focus on logistics (third party management) and planning. Supply chain development experience would be an advantage
  • Project and programme management experience
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
