Imperial Tobacco’s Francphone West African operations required a commercial hire in the Sales and Marketing role to help their continued growth in the region. With an international outlook and high level of qualifications necessary, this was a challenging search, even before a tight budget cap was applied.
A global search campaign led by Careers in Africa’s Francophone team. In addition to finding and screening the candidates, Careers in Africa led a salary negotiation on both the candidate and client sides to reach a solution all parties were happy with.

The Imperial Tobacco requirements were tricky, but with a global search perfectly possible. The real question was budget, but we’d found a candidate who really wanted to be with the company, and that kind of attitude makes flexibility on both sides possible. In the end, when you find the right candidate, both sides want to get the deal done.
