Our history
The story of ” La Brasserie Leopoldville ”, established on 25 October 1923, is closely linked to that of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For 90 years, we have shared exceptional moments thanks to our various beverages.
In 1950, the new owners adopted a policy of geographical expansion and new plants were created in other provinces of Congo: South Kivu (Bukavu), Province Orientale (Kisangani), Bas-Congo (Boma), Ecuador (Mbandaka ) and Katanga (Lubumbashi).
The Dutch HEINEKEN Group, the third largest brewer worldwide and Europe’s second largest brewer, became the majority shareholder of Bralima in 1987.
HEINEKEN The Group also owns since 1998 ” The Bouteillerie Kinshasa-Boukin- a factory specializing in the manufacture of glass bottles.
