As South Africa’s successful hosting of the 2010 World Cup now passes into recent memory, what are the eyes of the world still seeing in South Africa? The answer is talent!

Global Career Company hosted the Careers in Africa Recruitment Summit in Johannesburg, the commercial capital of South Africa on September 17 to 19, 2010. The event was a huge success which drew over 15 companies including Afre Corporation, Airtel Africa, Bateman Engineering, Dupont, East African Breweries Limited, ENSA, EXIM Bank, FNB, GE, JTI, South Africa Post Office, Rio Tinto and Vale.

A presentation on Airtel Africa’s ambitious growth plans by Tina Muparadzi their Head of Learning and Development was certainly a highlight of the event. Over 300 African professionals residing across South Africa were in attendance to meet and interviewing with the participating companies as well as networking with like-minded professionals.

All eyes are now focusing on the next Careers in Africa Summit which will be hosted in London on October 29 to 31, 2010. With over 20 companies confirmed and more to come, this promises to be an event which ends 2010 with a bang and is definitely not to be missed.
