Afreximbank is seeking a seasoned professionals for the role of an Export Developer, focusing on export-related projects within their esteemed institution. Reporting to the Director of Export Development, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in advancing their mission to foster the consistent expansion and diversification of African trade. This involves spearheading the origination, structuring, and financing of export projects, aligning with the bank’s commitment to being a top-tier, profit-oriented, socially responsible financial institution, and a center of excellence in African trade matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the origination of a robust pipeline of export projects across diverse sectors and countries, collaborating closely with branch teams and receiving support from the Director of Export Development.
- Oversee the structuring of transactions that contribute to industrialisation and export development, from developing and negotiating term sheets to execution.
- Manage the development and preparation of comprehensive annual business development plans, covering all facets of project financing within our export development program.
- Translate business development plans into tangible business opportunities, focusing on export manufacturing, light manufacturing, agro-processing, industrial parks, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and service export projects.
- Expand the marketing and coverage of flagship financing products/programs to facilitate industrialization and export development.
- Design programs and initiatives to establish a strong market presence, emphasizing geographic expansion tailored to meet the needs of African corporate entities and institutions.
- Coordinate the activities of Export Development Finance personnel, ensuring seamless processing from origination to credit approval and financial close within optimal timelines.
- Liaise with various departments, including Credit Assessment, Legal, and Banking Operations, to facilitate efficient credit processes, transaction documentation, and disbursement timelines.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with market participants, including international banks, African financial institutions, project finance intermediaries, project sponsors and developers, corporates, and commodity boards.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by Senior Management.
