Finance Director

Job Description

The Finance Director will oversee financial operations in Zimbabwe. This is a high-impact role offering the chance to drive financial strategy, optimise business performance, and lead a dynamic team within a competitive market.

Main responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing financial policies, controls, and reporting structures.
  • Driving financial strategy and ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.
  • Monitoring and optimising working capital, budgets, and profitability.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • Leading and mentoring a team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Responsibility for reporting the company’s financial and accounting functions which will include working closely with the other senior management staff in executing the policies and decisions of the Company and overall growth and profitability of the Company. 
  • Exercising control over the management of liquid resources, preparation of cash forecasting, negotiations on financial agreements and reviewing and controlling of credit policies, corporate financing, and taxation matters. 
  • Ensuring efficient operations of the accounting functions of the company, timely completion of all Management Information Reports as per BSO requirement and fulfilling the requirements of the law for all financial activities of the Company. 

Personal Specification

  • Senior finance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in Africa or other emerging markets.
  • Professional qualification essential – CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent; an MBA is an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to implement financial strategies, improve efficiencies, and drive profitability.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence business decisions.
  • Experience in compliance, tax planning, treasury, and financial risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
