We are seeking a dynamic Group Director to lead our efforts in securing funding from diverse sources, ensuring AGF has the resources to expand its impact. This strategic role involves building strong partnerships, identifying new funding opportunities, and driving initiatives that unlock financing for African SMEs.
Job Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute fundraising strategies, conduct market research, and analyse data to ensure a strong pipeline of funding opportunities.
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the fundraising team while overseeing grant writing and stakeholder engagement.
- Stakeholder & Partner Management: Build AGF’s reputation, cultivate key funding relationships, and represent the organisation at external events.

- Develop a Donor-Centric Culture: Foster a culture that prioritises building long-term, rewarding relationships with stakeholders while driving innovative fundraising practices.
- Optimise Fundraising Strategies: Translate market insights and data into new and enhanced fundraising strategies, driving growth and innovation within the team.
- Cost Control & Budget Management: Track operational expenditure, focusing on cost containment strategies while optimising fundraising investments.
- Strategic Planning: Define and implement fundraising frameworks, identifying key metrics and tracking outcomes that align with AGF’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Project Leadership: Lead the design and execution of key fundraising initiatives, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and aligned with organisational priorities.
- Stakeholder Mapping & Data Management: Manage and document key stakeholder relationships, ensuring all donor and funding data flows are accurately tracked and reported.
- Team Management & Development: Lead and nurture a high-performing fundraising team, enhancing skills, improving efficiency, and promoting innovation in fundraising efforts.
