Context:
Vivo Energy is and expanding and growing business. It’s reliance on technology is commensurate with this growth. Purpose: The Head of Architect will simultaneously establish the function as well as take overall accountability for owning and driving the technology road map for all systems. A hands-on position, this person will design the integration application and infrastructure landscape, leading solution and product identification and selection,
Dimensions:
The Architect will collaborate with in house project and operations teams, work with the business interface teams to ensure strategic technology decision making and ensuring an integrated landscape with a focus on ensuring seamless interoperability and ease of access to data to drive business decision making
Organisation:
The Architect will report directly to the CIO and will oversee both SAP, NON-SAP applications and infrastructure. It is expected that this role will have 2-3 direct reports.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Establish baseline of all IT systems and elements
2. Define a reference Architecture for all systems moving forward
3. Determine relationships between systems
4. Recommend rationalisation actions
5. Determine best technology approach for:
- SAP S4HANA and modules as well as connected applications
- Databases
- Messaging bus
- Storage
- Application interaction and interdependency
- Application design
- Development languages
- Mobile Applications
- Data Centre and Infrastructure
Data management and delivery Key Challenges:
- Virtual Organisation
- Lack of current blueprint
- Small IT team busy with other initiatives
- Inflight projects with limited time
