Purpose of the job:
The Asset Management Company is a disruptive start-up based out of Nigeria aiming to become one of the top 3 in the asset management industry in Africa through the introduction of market leading innovation and solutions. The MD is responsible for shaping the strategy, building the organization and launching innovative products and partnerships to drive the growth of the new business. In addition, the MD is responsible for building an agile, digital and innovation driven culture in the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Shape the strategy for the new Asset Management company (with inputs from the Board), identifying revenue-generating models, and identifying potential partnerships to acquire customers and expand the suite of services/value-adds for customers
- Develop an implementation roadmap for the strategy, including shaping thinking on roll-out of products and solutions, overall IT architecture, organizational needs, and customer acquisition/retention strategy
- Ensure the new business has clearly defined metrics to evaluate success and continuous, measurable improvement
- Build the organization for the new business. This would include designing the organizational structure, identifying capabilities required, prioritizing immediate positions to be filled, and leading the recruiting process.

- Leading a team to design and deliver innovative products, and re-imagine customer journeys
- Leading a team to drive customer attraction, retention, and increased revenues through digital platforms and physical channels (where applicable)
- Leading formation of new partnerships to drive growth
- Driving the investment decision making process
- Leading deal origination by managing high value relationships at a strategic level
- Keep track of key developments in the digital, data analytics, and asset management space to continually identify new ideas, solutions that could provide opportunities for the business to accelerate growth ambitions.
- Implement measures to drive consistency in the delivery of amazing customer experience across all channels and touch points
- Lead by example to build a culture that is agile, digital and innovation driven
