Job Purpose:
Custodian of the data center equipment, ensure that all the equipment within the data centres are well operating, monitored and perform within the required environmental condition as expected
To provide first line technical support, install, configure and troubleshoot Data Center equipment/systems (Servers, networks, power, cooling and associated assemblies in Bank Data Centres.
To provide required support to the zone supporting officer for the management of branch server rooms where branch communication equipment and other IT hardware components are hosted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Data Center equipment (Servers, UPS, Network System, Generator and Cooling Systems)
- Manage capacity planning and growth of the data center Power systems requirements (UPS, inverters, generators etc.)
- Manage capacity planning, allocation and growth of the data center server hardware resources ( storage, processors etc.) ensure that they are effectively utilized in an optimal manner
- Act as first line of support for all Data Center equipment/systems (Electrical Power, Cooling System, Servers, CCTV and External Storage)
- Custodian of the data centre environmental monitoring systems (temperature, humidity etc.), ensure that they are perfectly working and being continuously monitored to provide the intended functions
- Responsible for managing and operating data center physical Security systems that are essential components of the physical access to the data center infrastructure
- Manage part of the day-to-day operational support of the various physical security systems and work to resolve issues directly or through facilitation and engagement of third parties as appropriate.
- Coordinate and support Data centers external IT service providers and suppliers, supervise preventive maintenance of Data Center equipment as per contractual agreements.

- 6 years’ experience in ICT area responsible for technology solutions design and support, preferably 4 years’ experience working and supporting enterprise data center
- Experience in enterprise systems architecture
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues and concepts in a simple manner
- Demonstrated ability and experience to develop and defend technical recommendations and budgetary plans
- Demonstrated experience working in a deadline-oriented environment managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced atmosphere
- Graduate – Information Systems/Computer science/Computer engineering Degree or equivalent with focus on IT Data center Management, preferably Post-graduate – Information Systems/Computer science/Computer engineering
