Head of Human Resources (HR)

The positions will report to the Country President.

The Human Resources Area is responsible for advising, assisting and challenging management in all areas of HR, in order to plan and meet the company overall business targets and organisational resources requirements in a strategic way. The role of human resources is to translate business ambitions into HR priorities and execution and act as a true business partner to the organisation, enabling the business and ensuring labour peace

 Main tasks/responsibilities within the role will be:

  • Ensure the efficient and effective execution of main corporate HR processes
  • Ensuring that correct policies, routines, procedures, and rules are being followed as stated under the terms and conditions of employment and within the law of Nigeria.
  • Establishing and facilitating processes and tools for people and leadership strategic planning and recruitment, performance and short and long term development, deployment and human resource retention strategies
  • Ensuring implementation and promotion of  company corporate values, leadership and ethical standards
  • Develop and implement a competitive and performance based reward system
  • Deliver personnel administration, including payroll and follow up on implementation of employee benefits
  • Establish and execute annual HR budget
  • Promote the development of company organisational culture  (and other company tools for people and working environment and follow-up the execution)
  • Develop HR policies and systems based on company’s international HR policy and Nigeria labour law compliance
  • Ensure that the company complies with all Nigeria laws and regulations regarding working conditions, labor relations issues and work force requirements

Education and Personal requirement:

  • Nigeria national
  • Master degree or equivalent in the field of human resources, business administration, law

Experience

  • Alternatively strong, relevant experience in combination with education at bachelor level
  • 10 years of relevant managerial experience minimum
  • Proven experience in all related aspects of Collective Agreement negotiations, Trade Unions.
