Completions Supervisor

Function: Onsite supervision of completion operations as Tullow Representative
Business Unit/Team: Tullow Kenya in the Well Engineering Team
Location: Kenya well locations (potentially other global Tullow locations)
Reports To: Direct reporting to the Drilling Supervisor (DSV) onsiteFunctional reporting to the Completions Engineer in Nairobi
Interacts With: Internal:  Drilling Supervisor (DSV)Onsite EHS Field AdvisorWell Services Team LeaderWell Test Engineers External:Third-party contractors & service companies onsite
Supervises: Third-party specialist, completion service providers Job Purpose: Planning, execution, management and daily reporting of onsite Completions Operations in accordance with the approved Completion Programme as well as to deliver the technical objectives environmental impact, within schedule and within the budgetsafely, with minimum 
Responsibilities / Key Objectives:EH&SPromote safety culture and excellent EH&S performanceEnsures EH&S is given the highest priority in all aspects of well completion operationsDemonstrate to the completions service companies’ supervisors and personnel the Tullow commitment to EH&SEnsures all incidents and accidents (including near misses) are promptly reported, where appropriate thoroughly investigated and lessons learnt are recorded and implementedPromote participation in the onsite hazard identification schemeAttend and participate in EH&S and operational planning meetingsEnsure onsite EH&S policies and processes are complied with by the well testing service providers, including PPE requirements, Permit to Work, Energy Isolation, Confined Entry, Lifting Procedures, Incident Reporting, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), etc.
Continuous ImprovementEnsures continuous improvement, ideas from the rig, from after action reviews and lessons learned are incorporated into daily work instructions and implemented in all well Testing & Completion OperationsEngage & encourage completions service companies to offer suggestions for increasing safety & operational performance 
Operational SupportProvide daily operational & technical expertise in execution of Completion Operations to deliver completions plans and objectivesManages daily operations and logisticsPlanning for future operations and ensures required materials and services are available at rig site in an suitable timeframeWork with service providers to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds requirementsProvide technical input and when required offer engineered solutions to well testing & completion problemsProvide concise & informative daily reports
Risk ManagementProvide written work instructions to well site crews with emphasis on key risks & measures to avoid NPT
RelationshipsBuild effective relationships with internal stakeholders, service companies and Co representatives on the rigBe willing to work in an international environment with international crews
Financial Responsibility: Responsible for managing the operations in the most cost-effective mannerControl cost of all onsite activities Responsible for checking and approving onsite job tickets, delivery tickets from the well test service providers.No budget responsibilities
Person SpecificationEducation: A tertiary qualification in an Engineering Discipline preferred (but not essential)Valid Well Control Certification (IWCF)Skills/Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in supervising of Completion and related Operations.Demonstrable experience in supervising the running of intelligent well completions.Extensive experience in working on remote land rig operationsFluent in English (written & spoken)Interpersonal (soft) skills necessary to establish good working relationships with international teamsHigh proficiency with IT and industry software including MS SuiteValid medical certification fit to work in remote African locationsBusiness Behaviours: Focus on ResultsStrong sense of focus on results, driving tasks and projects through to completion with the flexibility to adapt to changing situationsAct with Integrity and RespectWork with integrity and respect for people and for the environmentCommitment to Tullow and Each OtherWork in a collaborative manner, empowering himself and others, whilst taking responsibility for his actionsEntrepreneurial Spirit and InitiativeMaintain his entrepreneurial and creative sprit as he challenges himself to develop his tasks and himself
