Location: Nairobi Job Purpose: To support the DGM (Commercial) in providing commercial direction, support and advice to the Business Unit creating, optimising and protecting value through the provision of commercial advice, negotiation and delivery of robust commercial solutions / arrangements and formal agreements.
Provide commercial support as required to the Regional Commercial Manager (and EA Commercial team)
Responsibilities / Key Objectives: • Provide sound and timely strategic, commercial, economic guidance and advice in support of the Business Unit short, medium and long term objectives. • Support DGM (Commercial) (and GM / DGM (Technical) as required) in decision making and day-to-day management of the Kenya business
In conjunction with the DGM (Commercial), management of all commercial activities relating to Tullow’s interests (operated and non operated) in Kenya:
o Provide the primary interface with JV partners on all commercial issues.o support DGM (Commercial) in the delivery of JV work programmes and budgetso in conjunction with the Commercial Development Advisor deliver the Phase 1 Lokichar commercial development plan, FDP and support BU delivery of a future FID o support and guide Commercial Advisor to achieve key objectives in the defined areas of responsibility;o direct / coordinate the business and analytical input as required by the BU in support of commercial development and operational activities;o manage the business planning process in conjunction with the Business Performance Managero develop and manage key internal and external stakeholders relevant to delivery Commercial key objectives
• support the Regional Commercial team and Commercial Manager EA Pipelines in the delivery of a successful FID on a Uganda – Kenya crude oil pipeline and other regional activities

Person Specification
Education: Engineering, Technical, Commercial, Legal or Finance / Business degree, preferably at Masters level.  MBA preferred.
Experience / Skills: • Track record in the delivery of high value upstream commercial transactions and closure of Oil and Gas contractual arrangements;• Experience in all phases of the E&P lifecycle a prerequisite;• Lead or key supporting role in delivery of commercialisation options for single or multiple high value oil and gas developments;• Detailed understanding and knowledge of upstream economic value drivers and analysis;• Oversight and management of JV / regulatory / commercial operations and commercial assurance;• Understanding of financing and project financing of upstream, midstream projects;• Experience in Sub Saharan Africa desirable but not essential, equivalent experience essential;
