Role Description:
The role is supposed to help the Bank to achieve its mission “stimulating a consistent expansion of, and diversification of African Trade so as to rapidly increase Africa’s share of global trade, while operating as a first class, profit oriented, socially responsible financial institution and a centre of excellence in African Trade matters” by playing a supporting role in the management of the Bank’s AML/KYC  functions in line with the policies laid down by Senior Management of the Bank, in order to ensure that the Bank’s infrastructure are adequately protected from abuse by financial criminals. The role of the position holder will be to conduct research, analyze, recommend and produce customer due diligence reports on every transaction that involves the Bank as well as have the capacity implement the laid out policies and procedures for this function.Person Specifications:
Qualifications Skills & Experience 
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant degree in related areas such as Banking, Risk Management, Law, or equivalent programme from a recognized University is acceptable in addition to a post graduate degree in a related field.  A professional qualification, backed up by appropriate banking experience may be considered in lieu of a post graduate degree;
• must demonstrate profound understanding and appreciation of the functions of the Compliance Unit in a financial institution, preferably as trade finance institution.
• must demonstrate the ability and sound knowledge of KYC/AML requirements with experience of at least 5 years in this function;
• ability to interpret policy documents and provide inputs where required;
• ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting with good knowledge of banking practices in Africa;
• Ability to interact with senior officials of banks, corporate entities and governments;
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French. Knowledge of the Bank’s other working languages (Portuguese, and Arabic) is an added advantage;
• experience in banking particularly in trade finance will be added advantage;
• demonstrate team work, including ability to organize and manage human resources to attain goals;
• must have good report writing skills;
• creative and mature;
• ability to interact with senior officials of banks, corporate entities and governments;
• must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French;
• knowledge of Bank’s other working languages i.e. Portuguese and Arabic is an added advantage; and 
• ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
