Role Description
The Cluster Manager will ensure that the business and plants in his area runs safely and effectively in the most efficient cost controlled manner from operational, quality as well as commercial perspectives.
Hence, the Cluster manager will oversee batching plant operations and lead sales & marketing activity in area, including ensuring that the key resources required in operations (human, material e.g. cement & aggregates) are available and optimized.
The Cluster Manager will also actively participate in the achievement of the growth agenda of Lafarge Ready Mix Nigeria (LRN).
Person Specifications:
Qualifications Skills & Experience 
• BSC engineering (civil or mechanical) combined with business qualification • Experience in a busy commercial environment within the building materials or construction industry • At least 5 years’ experience in ready mix concrete operations would be added advantage • Good communicator (written & spoken)• Good analyst and fluency with IT tools (Excel)• Ability to influence and drive actions with minimum supervision 
Major Accountabilities & Activities:
Health & Safety• Ensure full compliance of the plant with Lafarge safety standards• Regular VFL conduct in the RMC plant and/or offices at least four (4) hours per month to assess H&S compliance, with documented report• Select and champion at least 1 important RMC safety action items, in consultation with RMC safety manager and GMOperations• Accountable for overall performance of the batching plant operations (production, equipment utilization, HR, fleet management, material supplies esp. cement, … ) • With the support of the technical manager and performance analyst, ensure proper internal controls are in place (especially stock reconciliations, loss investigation, … )• General administrative oversight of plant activities • Achievement of target set budget
 Commercial & Customer relations• Lead the sales and customer services activities in the area• Prompt resolution of product customer related claims and complaints• Ensure customer needs are met in terms of quality, correct product and timely delivery
Interaction: • Coach, train and help operational people to understand and follow Lafarge procedures. • Pro-active approach towards interaction between in-house departments. • Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Area Manager
