Country Manager – Angola

Job Description

Overview

This role has a wide range of responsibilities and aims to build and execute our country strategy to accelerate growth in focus business areas

Accountability will also be on driving country sales across business units, achieving financial objectives, and coaching sales team to achieve/exceed objectives while developing talent pipeline

Role Description

Country Business Strategy

  • Understand the healthcare environment, funding and regulatory framework of the market to enable delivery of effective marketing & commercial solutions
  • Develop partnership with the key opinion leaders, government regulatory bodies, key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
  • Craft and implement go-to-market strategy to achieve all business goals
  • Manage and operate within agreed regional budgets, achieve sales and profit targets to deliver System Net Income targets
  • Take a leading role in major tenders and key accounts
  • Design and drive market expansion initiatives, aligned with BU regional strategy
  • Actively participate in the Business Planning and Strategic planning processes
  • Build and manage relationships Build business and competitive intelligence & adjust strategies to ensure market leadership position
  • Manage Professional Education initiatives, and promotional events
  • Collaborate with regional country managers to maximize synergies and maximize best practice sharing

Distributor Management

  • Define and implement Commercial Plans
  • Lead and motivate distributor teams to deliver sales objectives detailed in agreed Commercial Plans
  • Understand and develop pricing structures all the way to the end customer
  • Standardize and implement new price reviews yearly
  • Manage distributors to hold adequate stock and provide appropriate commercial support
  • Select appropriate Distributor companies and follow Due-Diligence criteria
  • Take ownership of due diligence, TPIs contracts and ensure compliance with deadline and legal requirements
  • Ensure distributors are aligned to FCPA, HCC and Credo values

Sales Management

  • Align with distributor in hiring and management of promotional teams
  • Ensure adequate geographical sales coverage to maximize impact
  • Identify and supervise training requirements for sales force
  • Lead and motivate sales teams to achieve sales objectives
  • Implement innovative incentive schemes to drive sales growth
  • Take a leading role in Key Account Management in the country
  • Ensure optimum utilization of the Company’s adopted selling tools (Integrity Selling) by dedicated sales team
  • Encourage innovation in all sales force practices and activities
  • Ensure appraisal reviews are carried out regularly and on time
  • Monitor results and provide timely business unit reporting (Latest Estimates & forecasts, Sales Commentary, monthly country report, Business reviews, etc) as requested by management
  • Ensure all interactions with HCPs within your region are conducted under HCC guidelines

Commercial Excellence

  • Collaborate with regulatory team for timely management of BU regulatory requirements
  • Assist commercial & marketing team with BU pricing
  • Ensure timely launch and management of new product introductions in liaison with marketing team
  • Ensure speed-to-market through forecasting and close collaboration with MISSA commercial and marketing teams

  • Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience

Education:  (minimum required for competent performance in this position)

  • University/Bachelor Degree or Equivalent as a minimum
  • Medical degree or MBA degrees are desired

 Years of experience: (minimum required to be able to handle the position)

  • 15 years’ experience in a medical devices environment, with proven track record in marketing or sales

Travel

  • Approximately 25% of travel will be required mostly in-country
