L’Oréal South Africa was established in 1963. The company has five divisions: L’Oréal Manufacturing Midrand (manufacturing plant) and four operating divisions, namely Professional Products Division, L’Oréal Luxe, Active Cosmetics Division and the Consumer Products Division.

Job Purpose

As an international marketing manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing the international marketing strategy of the brand (or category), the consumer relationship and the development of the product portfolio to ensure the brand’s global growth. You will be responsible for the following :

  • Define the sense of international purpose and distinctive positioning of the brand (or category) to the market
  • Develop a 3-year marketing plan outlining the key strategic directions: product portfolio, great innovations and growth pillars
  • Create an integrated customer experience, engaging and consistent with the brand by guiding marketing mix strategies (IMC /  360 / Retail)
  • Develop the brand’s communication strategy globally (image, digital, point of sale)
  • Guide the entire online development process with commitments Sharing beauty with all, by animating the departments involved (research, industry, packaging)
  • Control the budget (sales forecasting, value analysis, brand profitability, development costs)
  • Your missions will also lead you to collaborate with strategic countries of the African market (South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast) to anticipate the specific regional needs for building the 3-year plan in line with the international environment

The Successful Applicant Must Meet the Following Criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in marketing development or marketing in a MNC within the FMCG or related industry (ideally beauty)
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful marketing plans
  • Solid market and consumer insight
  • Expertise in brand activations and managing the forecast and budgets
  • Good knowledge of the Sub Saharan market
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team and manage the relationships with key senior executives
  • Ability to operate in an environment where s/he will have to work with different functions and deal with different  teams
