Marketing Director (Category- IPC / HC)

Reports to Regional Marketing Director
Job Purpose Drive category growth and equity through strategic Regional marketing initiatives, designed to identify new market opportunities, drive product development, increase brand profitability and develop an overall growth strategy.

Key Accountabilities 1. Create and ensure the implementation of 5-year category portfolio and brand strategy ensuring it fits with Regional and Global expectations to grow brands, market share volume and value and profitability2. Drive the NPD process and ensure pipeline initiatives to deliver 5-year created future3. Delivery of overall budgeted profitability by growing and sustaining Regional Category performance4. Approve and monitor category M&C spend based on ROI/Strategy plan5. Explore & exploit new opportunities for the Category in the Region6. Define consumer and category research strategy and objectives and oversee its implementation7. Select and partner with agencies to deliver category communication agenda (including digital media)8. Develop and implement category pricing strategy to deliver agreed category and brand objectives 9. Monitor, control & report Category Performance through brand health indicators such as NNS, GM, MC & key consumer KPI’s providing solutions to shortfalls;  ensuring measures are relevant and develop appropriate resources/solutions if required10. Ensure the consumer is central to all strategy and decisions, including influencing other functions11. Coaching, managing, developing, building and sourcing category/marketing/brand managers.12. Participate in and influence key business teams (non-brand projects), CBU leadership teams.13. Foster positive external relationships with key industry influencers/media
 Job Context & Special Features: May require• Significant in-country and regional travel• International travel• Flexibility to work on weekends
Qualification , Experience & CompetenciesQualifications Experience• Bachelor Degree • Over 10 years demonstrated experience in Brand Management• Professional Qualification in Marketing is essential• Post graduate degree is desirable• IT savvy including the use of MS Office Suite of Applications
