Career Opportunity with L’Oreal South Africa – Performance Improvement Manager

Key job accountabilities

  • Manage the deployment of the Manufacturing Referential throughout the plant (best practices, self-assessment, methods and tools) in order to improve the production equipment performance.
  • Responsible of the proper application of the Manufacturing Referential (the UP Manager remains the only responsible person for the production Performance of its UP).
  • Define and validate with the plant Mancom the targets in terms of Manufacturing Referential deployment in agreement with the DO/DT and DGO’s recommendations
  • Steer the so-defined Performance improvement projects
  • Ensure the consistency of the projects across the different UP in the same plant
  • Ease the roll-out of the different Performance improvement projects in the plant (cross-functional and between top management and shop-floor)
  • Ensure the proper application of the Group Manufacturing Referential
  • Animate and motivate the different departments and working groups in the plant on the Performance Improvement initiatives
  • Be an expert in continuous improvement methods (ex : Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, SMED, Chrono-analysis, Optima, …)
  • Train the plant manpower
  • Realize audits to ensure the proper application of the tools and methods
  • Promote ideas, new best practices and celebrate success at the plant level
  • Be the contact person for the Manufacturing Performance Department of the Zone (DGO Manufacturing Performance for Europe)

Technical & Professional competencies required

  • Knowledge of the Group Production techniques
  • Theoretical and applied knowledge of the Group Manufacturing Referential
  • Knowledge of the Operational Excellence Systems (e.g. Lean Manufacturing)
  • Successful operational management experience (UP Manager, Processing Manager, Packaging Manager or equivalent)
  • Coaching skills : good relationship, communication, team leadership, …
