Project Controls Engineer

Job Description

  •  Planning team to understand impacts from Integrated Plan activities on In-country activities
  • OR&A and Project teams to track in-country costs and spend and Project Budgets
  • In-Country Project team to receive cost and budget inputs
  • Project Teams in various Locations as part of Budgeting process
  • Contracts & Procurement resource to fully understand cost commitments in-country
  • Key In-Contractors to define and receive cost/schedule information for in-country activities
  • Finance team to receive cost data
  • Other Company Cost and Planning Engineers to ensure consistency in BU Project Controls/Services processes.
  • Serve as the focal point of support for in country activities schedule and cost management/control
  • Support Logistics planning for Project and producing cost estimates  associated with these based on in-country logistics strategy documentation/processes
  • Support the Annual Work Program and Budget activity via Liaison with the Project team in London and in country Finance teams.
  • Providing interface support between  Project Team and local/in country teams via the provision of Project status update reports and communication
  • Provide Project Controls Support to the TEN Construction and In-country Well Engineering teams in country
  • Monitoring and appraising the performance of Contractor’s site in the areas of cost, progress and schedule control
  • Work with Contracts and Procurement department to accurately identify Project  in-country commitments and report status accordingly
  • Provide input to the Project Monthly Cost Report and Integrated Plan with status of in-country activities
  • Assist in coding of requisitions/invoices in line with approved budgets and Work Breakdown Structure coding
  • Clearly identify and highlight to Project Controls team early warnings and risks associated with in-country activities.
  • Monitor contract expenditure and forecast contract value against approved contract values.
  • Co-ordinate, in conjunction with discipline engineers and finance manager, an Earned Value measurement system where applicable
  • Resolve issues/queries from Project Support departments including Accounts, Logistics, etc
  • Liaise with the local  Finance Team to coordinate and track partner approvals (AFE) process
  • Represent the Project  Controls function at key partner meetings as directed by Line Manager

Requirement

  • Experience with a range of Cost Management and Planning Programmes including Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in a Project Controls discipline. Oil and Gas/Construction experience will be an advantage
