Provincial General Manager – Sales & Distribution OMSA
Brief Posting Description
Role Description:
This role manages profitability & delivery of new business in a region/province. The role is individually accountable for execution of sales strategy through other managers and their teams over a 1-2yr period.
Key result areas and work descriptors:
Management Effectiveness
- Builds a high-performance ethic in the region amongst staff.
- Holds first line managers accountable for managerial work, including selection, performance management and talent management.
- Develops MOs and specialists under supervision.
- Selects potential MOs to sustain pipeline.
- Defines and implements sales best operating practice.
- Defines performance parameters (incl. balanced scorecard) and measurements for area under supervision.
Regional Distribution Strategy
- Individually accountable for execution of sales strategy over a 1-2 yr period.
- Understands markets, economic and political opportunities in the region and deals with environmental threats.
- Implements regional strategy with clear and measurable action plans on branch level.
- Review effectiveness of strategy and re-align continuously.
- Gathers market intelligence & incorporates information into the regional strategy.
Resource Management
- Manages resources such as markets and technology in the region.
Risk Management
- Manages and minimises business risk in the region.
- Ensures Financial Services Industry regulations are adhered to.
Sales Support
- Manages the support processes in the region.
Sales/ Productivity
- Manages profitability & delivery of new business in the region through other managers and their teams.
- Drives operational excellence throughout area of supervision.
- Responsible for building & growing the business in the region.
- Ensures that the region meets its budget.
Stakeholder Management
- Manages all stakeholders in regional market.
- Strong relationship and networking focus.
Job Requirements
Role Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma is a preference
- Gr12 (Matric).
- FAIS compliance.
