Job Description:
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Responsibility, the job holder will be responsible for managing the operations of the Safaricom Foundation with a view to supporting the delivery of Safaricom’ s Corporate Social Investment objectives, building reputation and building affinity among Kenyan communities .
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day operations of the Foundation in line with the following existing policies and procedures ;
- Ensure synergies with the Sponsorships Team, Publicity Team, Area Sales Managers and staff to ensure involvement of all areas of the business in the Foundation’s activities and seamless execution of events;
- Identify and grow the Foundation’s Brand Assets (World of Difference, Medical Camps etc);
- Implement (in collaboration with the Corporate Communications Department) a Public Relations and Communications policy to cover relationships with Safaricom Ltd, the media the Vodafone Foundation and other stakeholders in order to increase awareness of the Foundation and its partnerships;
- Implement a brand tracker for the Foundation in order to assess public perception of the Foundation;
- Monitor and measure the PR impact of the Foundation;
- Manage the process of production of Foundation’s monthly, quarterly publications;
- Coordinate the timely preparation of the Board Pack for review and approval by the HoD;
- Coordinate follow up requests that emanate from Board Meetings and provide all relevant reporting on grant requests and grants approved;
- Ensure effective and efficient processing of grant requests using.
Requirements:
- Graduate with a degree from a recognized University;
- 3-5 years’ experience in development work in busy organization;
- Experience of grant making/receiving in an organization;
- Ability to Identifiy and mitigate operational, financial and business risks in critical processes and projects ;
- Experience in Managing Projects and Programmes ;
- Experience in Managing, Monitoring and reporting on budgets ;
- Ability to communicate simply , excite and engage people;
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and networks.
