Senior Commercial Advisor

Employer: One of the largest oil and gas producers

Experience: 10+ years Minimum

Education: Bachelors/3-5 yr Degree

Location: Port Gentil, Gabon

Job Purpose/Summary

To support and advise on:

• delivery and protection of commercial and business value from existing assets

• commercial governance of operated and non-operated assets

• identify resource requirements and prioritise commercial activities

• the development, execution and management of commercial opportunities

• negotiations with external stakeholders

• provide professional commercial services to the management team

• the development, implementation and custodianship of best practices for negotiations and contracts

Key Accountabilities/Result Area Responsible for:

• conducting sensitivities and analyses of commercial terms in support of commercial strategies and plans

• structuring, planning and conducting negotiations for specific opportunities with due attention to value, risk and trends

•  establishment of resource plans to conduct the commercial projects

 • act as business opportunity manager for commercial driven projects and as such lead multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organisation

• ensure that specialists are involved in a structured manner in the development and conclusion of agreements

•  maintain detailed knowledge of our upstream petroleum agreements

• keep abreast of international developments in agreement standards and models

• establishing and maintaining an industry network

• attendance  of relevant industry E&P events

Experience/Qualifications

• Credible senior professional with proven track record in a wide range of commercial transactions and deal delivery

• Demonstrated in depth knowledge of E&P industry

• In depth understanding of petroleum agreements and contract economics

• Dynamic personality with bottom line focus

• Strong ability to integrate commercial, technical and legal aspects of a transaction

• Externally focused with extensive experience in complex stakeholder management with a demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others

• Strong communicator with due attention to political and commercial sensitive issues

• Ability to work towards tight deadlines

• Work under minimum supervision

• Fluent in French and English
