Senior Manager- Strategy

Job Description

1.  PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this job is to plan, monitor, execute and implement strategies aligned with objectives of SBU’s by identifying and conducting SWOT analysis to ensure the resource requirements are properly aligned to meet organization goals and to monitor the performance of the company and market practice.

2.  PRINCIPLE ACOUNTABILITIES

  1.  To participate in the formation of the strategic plan and conduct SWOT and Risk assessments of the strategic plans.

  2.  Coordinate and execute strategic plan meetings.

  3.  To communicate strategies, policies and procedures effectively to members Bank wide.

  4.  To ensure delivery of the department contributions to the Bank’s strategic plans.

  5.  Ensure departments maintain appropriate and effective departmental budgets.

  6.  Ensuring that the activities of the departments are undertaken in accordance with Bank’s Policy and external regulations.

  7.  To support the business units in terms of resources and leadership.

  8.  Prepare monthly reports and updating the management on the progress of departmental strategic plans.

  9.  Identify and manage the changes needed to support the new strategic plan.

  10.  Assisting CEO to make confidential strategic decision/s.

  11.  Monitor and carry out risk assessment on the three year strategy and the annual new business development plan.

2.2  RISK MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONAL CONTROL:

 

1.  To ensure that legal aspects of our communications work are understood within the organization (e.g. accessibility of web communications and data protection).

2.  Responsible for risk assessment and mitigation

3.  Understand the operational implications of different courses of action

4.  Identifying areas of improvement with internal processes in place.

5.  Report to Management/ Board the status of SBU’s progress, customer/staff feedback, pending issues in respect of the SBU’s

2.3  INDEPENDENT DECISIONS

 

1. Make the decisions based on the given budget.

1.  Internal: Management, Internal departments, Branches and subsidiaries.

2.  External: External Consultants, Customers, Industry professionals.

3.  QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

&#149  A formal generalist business qualification such as MBA, or a general management experience.

&#149  Experience of 3 -5 yrs in a similar role in a mid to large sized Organization;

&#149  A wide range of knowledge – preferably someone with experience in 3-4 different areas or the organization
