Strategic Programme Manager – OMEM CST

Role Description:

 This role is accountable for guiding the organisation through the definition, setup and delivery of strategic change programmes in order to achieve target outcomes. The incumbent is accountable for the successful delivery of all components of a strategic delivery/change programme necessary to deliver the target business result.

Business-Specific Objectives and accountability

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of broad-based strategic programmes, (involving IT enablement, organizational change and cultural change)
  • Responsible for building robust and compelling business cases at the strategic change level.
  • Responsible for ongoing alignment of the strategic program with business imperatives, and related organisation initiatives
  • Responsible for ensuring strategic programme issues (business, technical, operational and/or change related) are identified and resolved by ensuring adequate and timely focus on the priority issues
  • Accountable for robustness and predictability of delivery against programme plans
  • Responsible for ensuring ongoing alignment of senior stakeholders to strategic direction and gains their commitment to delivery of the business benefits
  • Accountable for accurate and meaningful reporting on programme status
  • Responsible for ongoing co-ordination of required governance and working forums and decision making processes.
  • Ensures robust plans, business cases, management and delivery processes in place to ensure predictability of delivery and result.

 Risk Management

  •  Responsible for ensuring strategic programme and delivery risks are identified and mitigated.

 Governance

  •  Accountable for programme governance, best fit delivery processes, ensuring a true picture of the programme and enabling accountable business leadership to navigate through the options and trade-offs.

 Resource Development

  •  Structures and builds the teams necessary to deliver.

 Team Effectiveness

  •  Accountable for building and driving a high performance delivery team across multiple disciplines: Business, Technical, Change, etc 

Reporting

  •  Accountable for accurate and meaningful reporting on programme status

Communication

  • Helps communicate the agreed end state picture for a given strategic imperative and the journey to get there.
  • Responsible for ongoing programme communications

Role Qualifications:

  • Degree (MBA, Engineering, Actuarial pref.)
  • 7-10 years’ experience delivering measurable results on large programmes
