Head of Sales and Marketing

Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Marketing & Sales who will be responsible for leading all branding, marketing, and new business development for the company’s expansion. The ideal candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking abilities, and a proven track record in launching and scaling brands in the personal care or FMCG sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

 Marketing & Brand Strategy

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies to position the brand competitively in West Africa.
  • Oversee brand portfolio development, ensuring strong visibility and consumer appeal.
  • Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to refine pricing, promotions, and positioning strategies.
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment with customer preferences across different regions.

Sales & Business Development

  • Lead market penetration efforts in Nigeria and Benin, establishing a strong distribution network.
  • Build and manage relationships with distributors, retailers, and e-commerce partners.
  • Identify and capitalize on market gaps and sales opportunities.
  • Optimize sales processes and channel strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Set and monitor KPIs to track performance and align with business objectives.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure the team meets and exceeds revenue and brand growth targets.

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies.
  • Drive ROI optimization for marketing spend.
  • Negotiate contracts and key partnerships to secure long-term growth.

Personal Specification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a sales & marketing leadership role, preferably in personal care, cosmetics, beauty, or FMCG sectors.
  • Proven expertise in market entry strategies, distributor management, and brand building.
  • Strong experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, and retail expansion.
  • Strategic thinker with strong market analysis skills.
  • Proven leadership & team development experience.
  • Excellent negotiation & relationship management abilities.
  • Data-driven approach to sales and marketing decision-making.
  • Resilient and adaptable to fast-paced and evolving market conditions.
