General Manager – Home

Job Description

The General Manager Home will lead a newly established and evolving division. This is a critical leadership role tasked with shaping and executing the Home Organisation strategy in alignment with the Group’s priority focus on the home segment. As one of the first markets within the Group to operationalise this initiative, MTN Côte d’Ivoire will play a pioneering role in establishing the structure and translating the strategy into commercial success. The GM will be responsible for defining the roadmap, driving innovation, and driving business growth within this emerging vertical.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, operational excellence, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer experience and business performance in a competitive telecoms market. The position is based in Côte d’Ivoire, and fluency in both English and French is essential. A local or expatriate contract is available, and a competitive remuneration and benefits package will be offered to attract top-tier talent.

Personal Specification

Education

  • Minimum of a 4-year tertiary qualification in Business, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field
  • Master’s degree (MBA) or similar postgraduate qualifications is highly desirable

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience in telecom, broadband, fixed wireless, or home connectivity services, or related role with at least 5 years in leadership role, preferably within telecommunications or digital industry
  • Proven experience in leading end-to-end home broadband function, home product portfolios driving revenue growth, cost optimization, and strategic execution across FTTH, FWA, and Opco in-home services
  • Demonstrated experience in broadband deployments, rollout, and lifecycle management i.e., Managed FTTH/FWA infrastructure rollout, service fulfilment, and post-installation support, ensuring end-to-end customer satisfaction
  • Deep understanding of home connectivity technologies like in-home Wi-Fi, device ecosystems, evolving customer needs and digital lifestyle trends, with a customer-first approach to solution design, ensuring high service availability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
  • Proficient in leveraging KPIs, dashboards, and operational data to support informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and strategic execution
  • Track record of launching customer-centric innovations such as smart home bundles, usage-based pricing, or home self-service platforms
  • Experience working in African or other emerging market environments, with sensitivity to local customer behaviour and affordability dynamics
  • Proven capability in leading cross-functional teams across product, marketing, and analytics and other relevant disciplines
  • Fluent in English and language of Country preferable
